SCHOOL CAP Mine is a replacement that was only bought weeks before they became defunct (See below). Before I photographed it I sat on it in the time honoured way to get the correct peak shape. For fitting in 1st year we all lined up in Fras's office under the stairs where the caps were kept in boxes of different sizes. Not wearing the cap was a detention offence and over zealous sadistic teachers like Knight would wait at the school gate and not let you off the premises without the cap. On one occasion in 1962/63 virtually the entire boys prefects were in Saturday morning detention for not wearing their caps complete with yellow tassels. Photo and caption from Geoff Carter.
