Hockey on the School Field
The only positive ID’s are the boy on the left, who is probably Des Rogers, but not sure, and the teacher on the right is Mr Calton.

Says Roger Graham: 'When I came to the School in 1953 the hut was still there ( 2 separate parts known as huts A and B ) but the structure between the hut and the school had been demolished and a new hut had been built ( known as huts C & D ) . Huts A & B had heating but my main recollection of them related to the floorboards. There was no lino, the wood was partially rotten and the floorboards creaked badly. One of them was the Music Room under the control of Mr Allton.'

The brick structure surrounding the greenhouse was a temporary air raid shelter built before the ones down the field, near the canal. It may have been not considered strong enough. The ones down near the canal were at least partially surrounded by earth!
