Do you know what this is and who is in the photo?
Says Tom Syson:
I think, a rehearsal of Benjamin Britten's 'Let's make an opera' from 1950 or 51. In the armchair Janet Smith, to her left, sitting on floor, I think it is Mary Turner. Behind her also seated is Nancy Myatt.The boy seen in profile is Gerald Smith, if I have identified the show properly. I am probably the lad in a tweed jacket with his back to the camera. I don't know the girl in the foreground. Please note, this identification is very tentative!
